CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
So what defines civic engagement? According to the American Psychological Association, civic engagement is individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern nevermore in The New York Times, it can also be interpreted as working to make a difference in the civic life of our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation to make a difference. My definition of civic engagement is people within their community partaking in public situations for the betterment of their surroundings. But I am not really here to talk to you about civic engagement but rather one of the current problems within the community, which is the newer generations' addiction to technology.

Why are Generation Alpha so hooked to their devices?

As far as anything goes, you would find so many technological consumers being completely glued to their devices. Whether it is entertainment or pure utility. This, however, might cause some diversity because of the consumer's intent on technological devices. Due to this, people in Generation Alpha have been less interactive with others and are absolute ignoramus, obnoxious, and a bigot.

Generation Z
Generation Z are fundamentally, people who grew up along with the internet in its early development. Originally, the internet was meant for scientists to communicate with each other and it had expanded upon because of this. You would see a revolution of developments such as commonly known search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) or even social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) it all happened during the 2000s. This was when landlines were still common, and even phone booths would be found at the corner of every block. In short, people had limited resources when it came to technology and because of this, people in Generation Z were not dependent on technology. There may be a few cases of people from Generation Z hooked onto the technology but they are mutually aware of their surroundings.

Community People
I asked my peers and locals and they had said similar opinions stating that younger generations are practically always on their phones. Whether I look my left or right in a public area I see children through young adults looking at their phones constantly. It is infuriating that people tend not to interact with their surroundings which more often than not lead them to dangerous situations. Contributing to video games or watching videos doesn't help but rather harms it because it is one of the main attributes of a car accident.
I can relate to it personally and chose to talk about this because it is not mentioned throughout the blogs I looked at and I have a certain connection to talking about these specific areas.
